Terms & Conditions

These terms are an agreement between you and Krivyom about using BoloEnglish. Please read them — by creating an account or using the app, you agree to them.

About these terms

BoloEnglish (the “app”, including our Android and iOS apps, the web app at app.boloenglish.krivyom.com and this website) is provided by Krivyom, India (“Krivyom”, “we”, “us”). These Terms work together with our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines, which form part of these terms.

If you don’t agree with these terms, please don’t use the app.

Who can use BoloEnglish

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use the app.
  • You must be at least 18 years old to join live calls.
  • If you are under 18, you may use the app only with the consent of your parent or guardian, as required by India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Your parent or guardian agrees to these terms on your behalf.
  • You must give your true birth year. Giving a false age to access live calls is a serious breach and will lead to a ban.
  • You must not use the app if you have been banned before.

Your account

  • You sign in with your mobile number and a one-time password (OTP). Use only a number you own.
  • Keep your phone and OTPs safe. You are responsible for activity on your account.
  • Keep your profile accurate. Your name must not be abusive, sexual, hateful, threatening or impersonate someone else.
  • You can delete your account at any time — see Account & data deletion.

The service and AI features

  • BoloEnglish helps you practise spoken English with an AI tutor and live voice calls with other learners, with tips, feedback reports, a mistakes notebook, levels, XP and streaks.
  • Tips, corrections and feedback are generated by AI. They are usually helpful but may sometimes be wrong or incomplete. BoloEnglish is a practice tool; it is not a certification, exam or guarantee of any result.
  • We may change, add or remove features, and the app may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or reasons beyond our control.

Live calls

  • Calls are voice-only, provided through a real-time audio service, and are not recorded.
  • During a call, your own microphone audio is processed by our server and Google Gemini for instant tips, your feedback report and safety moderation. Audio is deleted immediately and never stored. See our Privacy Policy.
  • Speak in English, be respectful, and never share phone numbers, social media handles or other contact details.
  • You can choose whether to be matched with the opposite gender using the “Talk with men” / “Talk with women” switch.
  • Other users are members of the public. We do not verify identities and are not responsible for what other users say, but we act quickly on reports.

Acceptable use

You agree to follow our Community Guidelines. In particular, you must not:

  • use abusive, sexual, hateful, harassing or threatening language anywhere in the app — in calls, with the AI tutor, in your name or in reports;
  • harass, stalk, bully, flirt with or try to meet other users, or ask for their personal details;
  • share contact details, links or advertising, or use the app for any commercial purpose;
  • involve, sexualise or endanger children in any way;
  • impersonate anyone, lie about your age or create accounts to get around a ban;
  • record other users, or misuse the app to break any law;
  • hack, scrape, reverse-engineer, overload or interfere with the app, or use bots or automation.

Moderation, bans and appeals

  • We use AI moderation to keep the community safe. Abusive, sexual, hateful or threatening words anywhere in the app lead to an automatic ban.
  • Speaking a language other than English on calls gives you warnings. Repeated misuse leads to suspension or a ban.
  • Users can report and block others at any time. We review reports within 24 hours and may warn, suspend or ban accounts that break these terms or our guidelines.
  • If you are banned, the app shows a message asking you to contact support. You can appeal by emailing support@krivyom.com and mentioning your registered phone number. A member of our team will review your appeal.
  • A ban does not entitle you to a refund of any remaining Premium period, except where the law or the store’s policy requires it.

Premium, payments and refunds

  • BoloEnglish is free to use with ads. Premium is a paid plan, currently ₹149 per month or ₹999 per year. Prices may change; see the app for current prices. Any price change will not affect a period you have already paid for.
  • Android: paid through Google Play Billing. iOS: paid through Apple In-App Purchase. Web: paid through Razorpay. We never see your card or UPI details.
  • Auto-renewal: subscriptions bought through Google Play or the App Store renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before renewal. Cancel in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions, or on iPhone in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a store subscription.
  • Web purchases are one-time periods (one month or one year) and do not renew automatically.
  • Refunds: purchases through Google Play or the App Store are refunded according to that store’s refund policy. For web (Razorpay) purchases, you may request a refund within 7 days of purchase if no Premium features were used — please contact support@krivyom.com.

Ads

Free users see ads served by Google AdMob and its mediation partners (such as Meta Audience Network). We are not responsible for the content of third-party ads or the websites they link to.

Your content

You own what you say and write in the app. You give us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to process it only as needed to run the app — for example, to generate AI replies, tips and feedback, and to moderate for safety — as described in our Privacy Policy.

Our intellectual property

The BoloEnglish name, logo, app, design, lessons and content belong to Krivyom or its licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your own learning. You may not copy, sell or reuse them without our written permission.

Third-party services

The app relies on third-party services such as Google Firebase, Google Gemini, Agora, Amazon Web Services, MongoDB Atlas, Google Play, the Apple App Store and Razorpay. Your use of app stores and payment services is also subject to their terms.

Disclaimers

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent allowed by law, we do not promise that it will always be available, error-free or that AI output will be accurate, and we are not responsible for the conduct of other users.

Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, Krivyom will not be liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us for Premium in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Indian consumer protection law that cannot be excluded.

Ending your use

You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or our guidelines, if required by law, or to protect other users.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any issue. Any dispute that cannot be resolved will be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the “Last updated” date and, for important changes, tell you in the app. If you keep using the app after changes take effect, you accept the updated terms.
