Child Safety Standards

Krivyom has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. This page sets out our standards for BoloEnglish and how to report a concern.

Our commitment

Zero tolerance

BoloEnglish strictly prohibits child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any form of child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including grooming, sexualising minors, sextortion and trafficking. Accounts involved are banned permanently and reported to the authorities.

Age requirements

  • Users must be at least 13 to use BoloEnglish (AI tutor and learning features).
  • Live calls are 18+ only. Users give their birth year at sign-up, and anyone under 18 cannot join live calls.
  • Users under 18 need the consent of a parent or guardian, as required by India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
  • Lying about age to access live calls leads to a ban. If we learn that a minor has accessed live calls, we remove that access immediately.

What is prohibited

  • Any content, speech or behaviour that sexualises a minor.
  • Grooming — trying to build a relationship with a minor for sexual purposes.
  • Asking a minor (or anyone) for personal details, photos, contact details or to move to another app.
  • Sharing, requesting or promoting child sexual abuse material in any form.
  • Sextortion, trafficking or any other exploitation of children.

How we prevent harm

  • 18+ live calls with an age check at sign-up.
  • Voice-only calls — no video, no photo sharing, and avatars are emoji only.
  • No contact details — phone numbers are never shown, and sharing contact details is against our rules.
  • AI moderation — abusive, sexual, hateful or threatening words anywhere in the app lead to an automatic ban.
  • Report and block available at all times, with human review of reports within 24 hours.
  • Gender matching choice — users can choose whether to be matched with the opposite gender.

How to report

  1. In the app: use the report option during or after a call and add details.
  2. By email: write to support@krivyom.com with the subject “Child safety report”. Include the user’s name as shown in the app, the date and time, and what happened. Please do not send us any abusive images or material.
  3. To the authorities: you can also report directly at cybercrime.gov.in (India), call 1098 (Childline India) or 112 in an emergency, or report to NCMEC’s CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org.

Child safety reports are treated as our highest priority.

What we do

  • Immediately ban the accounts involved and remove the content.
  • Preserve relevant records as required by law to support investigations.
  • Report apparent child sexual abuse material and exploitation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to the relevant Indian authorities (including under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 and the Information Technology Act, 2000), as required.
  • Cooperate fully with law enforcement requests.

Compliance with law

We comply with applicable child safety laws, including India’s POCSO Act, 2012, the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the IT Rules, 2021, and with the child safety requirements of Google Play and the Apple App Store.
